“…Recent research from our team as part of the 15-year longitudinal caregiver and family member study (CGFM) with caregivers of SMVs with TBI has found that social participation, resilience, sleep impairment, feelings of rejection, and emotional support were some of the first HRQOL areas to improve during the first 12 months of the caregiver transitioning from providing care to no longer caregiving (Brickell et al, 2023). However, longitudinal analyses using linear mixed-effects models and group-level mean scores demonstrated no significant change in caregiving burden, mental health, resilience, sleep impairment, or pain interference over 4–5 years (Brickell, Ferdosi, Wright, French, Lippa, et al, 2021; Brickell, Ferdosi, Wright, French, Sullivan, et al, 2021; Brickell, Wright, Ferdosi, et al, 2020, 2022).
