Abstract:Background. Peroxisome proliferator activated receptor- gamma (PPAR-gamma), a nuclear hormone receptor, has been shown to be an important regulator of gene expression. PPAR-gamma agonists have been shown to have anti-cancer properties by ways of inducing expression of tumour suppressor genes. It has been indicated that this action of PPAR-gamma is manifested by forming a complex with the PPAR-gamma coactivators (PGC1 &2) and in association with other transcription factors such as SRC-1 and CREB binding pro… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
