Abstract: Background Treatment goals for Crohn’s disease (CD) have changed from symptom control to objective endpoints, preferably endoscopic remission. However, as the relative invasiveness of ileocolonoscopy limits repeated examinations, a surrogate marker of endoscopic remission is needed.
