Use of follow up Ultrasound reassures the woman for completeness of the procedure. This follow up provides an opportunity to discuss and ensure effective contraception. This has a huge impact in minimising incidence of unwanted pregnancy. The drawback of routine follow up ultrasonography is that it involves multiple hospital visits and has cost implications, as compared to the follow-up with their own general practitioners.
