P‐73: Brightness Inversion of the Polymer Sustained Alignment (PSA) Mode Curved Display

Abstract: A new type curved liquid crystal display has been presented. A direct-type backlight module is used for curved display. Curved display has different emitting angles from the center to the edge. It was found the brightness increase as the view angle increases at low grayscale. It causes the color shift and poor uniformity. This paper discusses different grayscale view cone measurement result of 21.5" curved display. According to the measurement result, it can be improved by partition gamma correction.
