Abstract:We disclose a method creating two‐dimensional patterned alignment layers using a single step exposure on a linear photopolymerizable polymer alignment layer. We demonstrate patterned circumferential and patterned radial alignment. These display configurations demonstrate continuously varying planar alignment patterns on the micrometer scale with low threshold voltage behavior < 2 V.
