P‐12.1: The Optimal Technique of Color Shift Based on Reverse Dispersion Material

Abstract: Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) has witnessed tremendous development in the past decades. However, there are still some small flaws like L0 light leakage and color shift which are related to material dispersion. Herein, we illustrated two methods to modify the color shift of LCD based on material dispersion. The dispersion characteristic of LC, wave plate and retardation film could markedly impact the dark state light leakage and color shift. We believe that the reverse dispersion material holds a bright future.

“…A higher contrast ratio allows more details to be shown in the pictures. [6] The high contrast ratio means high transmittance in the bright state and/or low scattering (low light leakage) in the dark state. [7] Liquid crystals (LCs) are one of the key materials in improving the image qualities of displays.…”

“…Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) has witnessed tremendous development in the past decades. The breakthroughs are on not only about parameters [1][2][3], like contrast, response time and transmittance, but also about application field [4][5][6], including RLCD, 3D, anti-peep display and so on. The longing to work with private and sensitive information in public environments continues to attract the attention of researchers [7][8][9].…”
