Ozagrel for acute ischemic stroke: a meta-analysis of data from randomized controlled trials

Abstract: During scheduled treatment, ozagrel is effective for the improvement of neurological impairment for AIS patients. However, the evidence of ozagrel to reduce the long-term death or disability is limited and quality of these trials is insufficent hence, large-sample and high quality RCTs are warrented to confirm the efficacy of ozagrel for acute ischemic stroke.

“…Guideline from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for the patients' early management of acute ischemic stroke remains multifaceted, and includes several aspects of care that have not been tested in clinical trials [4]. Although data from some experimental and human studies have suggested that edaravone and Sodium ozagrel, the neuroprotective agent, may be beneficial for people with acute ischemic stroke, It has been widely used in China to treat stroke [5], [6], the comparisons of these drugs or combined treatments were unclear.…”

“…Developing a TXS inhibitor is a promising strategy for protecting against cerebral ischemic stroke (Kontogiorgis and Hadjipavlou-Litina, 2010). Ozagrel is a conventional TXS inhibitor clinically effective for the prevention and treatment of ischemic cerebral disease Zhang et al, 2012;Rink and Khanna, 2011), and it is administered by intravenous (i.v.) injection.…”

“…Platelets in this manner are actived in the intense stage, which discharges neurotoxic and thrombogenic. it is important to investigate different medications with the possibility to improve the cerebral blood stream and secure cerebrum work [4]. Therapeutic properties of ozagrel are observed as to restraint of TXA2 synthase by Ozagrel on human [5].…”
