“…The group of Amao has studied sensor films based on chemically binding of a mercapto group to metal surface (Au, Ag, or Pt) or of a carboxy group to an oxidic surface (such as Al 2 O 3 , Fe 2 O 3 , TiO 2 ). OSPs bearing carboxy groups, such as 1-pyrenedecanoic acid, 130,131 pyrene-1-butyric acid, 129,132-134 PtTCPP, 297,298 PdTCPP, 296 PdP-C 10 -COOH with long alkyl chains, 343,344 and Tb(acac) 3 (phen) 256,257 have been successfully assembled. Positively charged probes such as Ru(dpp), Ru(phen) and Ru(bpy) were first electrostatically attached to (negatively charged) poly(acrylic acid) and poly(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate), and then were chemisorbed onto an alumina plate to obtain planar optical oxygen sensors.…”

“…The AAO templates were immersed in a 1.0 × 10 −2 m palmitic acid ethanol solution for 6 h. The AAO membranes were cleaned with ethanol and dried for the next step. The carboxyl groups of palmitic acid can be adsorbed on aluminum oxide, which can modify the inner wall of the AAO templates to form hydrophobic nanochannels. After this step, the AAO templates were dipped into the aforementioned Au nanoparticle chloroform solution under ultrasonic wave.…”

“…Platinum octaethyl porphyrin (PtOEP) can also be employed as a PL-quenching indicator [24]. PtOEP offers good absorption in visible region, a large stoke shift and good photostability [25]. It also has a longer z of -100 p i in the absence of oxygen in comparison to ruthenium complexes (-10 ps) [26], so that PtOEP exhibits higher sensitivity.…”
