“…Considering that the skin is the body’s interface with the external environment, and in the environment, there are numerous aggressors that can create an imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants, it is considered that oxidative stress plays an important role in chronic inflammatory skin diseases. Regarding LP, there are numerous studies that investigate the level of oxidative stress in patients with oral LP [ 11 , 12 , 13 ], the studies being less numerous in the case of cutaneous LP. Recently, we performed a review that focused on oxidative stress markers in cutaneous LP (CLP) to provide a more complete understanding of the involvement of oxidative stress in this disease and identified that there is an increased level of prooxidants in conjunction with a decrease in the activity of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants.…”
