Oxidation of Dibenzo[a,e]fluoranthene by Osmium Tetroxide

Abstract: Dibenzo[a,e]fluoranthene is treated by osmium tetroxide, the nature, structure, and configuration of the compound obtained (a trans dihydro diol) are defined taking into account the chemical, theoretical, and physicochemical arguments.
