Oxidation Behavior and Mechanical Strength of Mg<sub>2</sub>Si Added with TiB<sub>2</sub>

Abstract: Improving the oxidation resistance and mechanical strength of Mg 2 Si is an especially critical issue for practical use in thermoelectric devices. To solve this problem, a sintered sample was prepared by adding 1.1 mol% to 11.0 mol% of TiB 2 powder to Mg 2 Si (0.2 at% Sb) powder, and the oxidation resistance and mechanical strength were evaluated.
