However, the present study found its M. piperita formulation (LC 50 in the range of 1–2 µg/cm 2 ) to perform on a par in housefly control with chemical larvicides, such as novaluron [LC 50 : 1.66 mg/kg; LC 90 : 8.25 mg/kg (Cetin et al , 2006)] and benzoylureas [90–100% mortality at 100 mg/L (Grosscurt & Tipker, 1980)]. This is a very encouraging observation because it suggests that botanical products can effectively replace harmful chemical insecticides.…”
