Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) is an advancement over Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) which is mainly design for inter vehicle communication. VANET is a scalable and unbounded network which is completely independent from the number of nodes. It can be implemented for one or several cities even for whole country. VANET is a self organizing network emergent technology with a promising advantages but having high challenges in its security. VANET communication must be secure and having guarantee that transmitted message is not inserted or modified by any attackers. VANETs is having different security requirement for governing proper vehicular communication. For secure VANET communication first systems have to discover who are the attackers, their capacity and nature to spoil the network communication. In this paper we have done the analysis of different Routing protocols OLSR, DSDV, AODV and DSR in VANET. We selected AODV as a most vulnerable protocol in VANET and presented effect of Blackhole Attack using AODV Protocol with the detail comparative analysis of Packet Drop Rate, Throughput and End to End Delay Parameters.

In a vehicular ad hoc network (VANET), roadside units (RSUs) are installed at roadside and intersections to process vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, collect and analyse intelligent vehicle traffic data, send information to vehicles, and achieve early warning of safe driving of vehicles. Owning to the high cost of implementing and maintaining RSUs, it is of vital importance to determine where and how many RSUs to deploy. Optimal RSU deployment requires both a small number of RSUs and the maximum coverage of vehicle running process, which constitutes a conflicting multiobjective problem. Nevertheless, existing works do not explicitly utilize multiobjective algorithm to solve the RSU deployment problem. Therefore, a multiobjective differential evolution approach is proposed in this work to solve the problem. Firstly, to conquer the complexity of urban road RSU deployment, the static model is established. Secondly, in the proposed multiobjective differential evolution with discrete elitist guide (MODE-deg), the sigmoid function is applied to discrete individual values. Finally, elitist individuals are selected based on crowding distance ranking and nondominated ranking to generate new individuals, which further improve the convergence speed and population performance. Experimental results show that MODE-deg can generate the optimal nondominant solution set with good convergence and diversity, in contrast to other multiobjective evolutionary algorithms in five test functions of ZDT.

Internet of vehicles (IoV), a novel technology, holds paramount importance within the transportation domain due to its ability to increase traffic efficiency and safety. Information privacy is of vital importance in IoV when sharing information among vehicles. However, due to the openness of the communication network, information sharing is vulnerable to potential attacks, such as impersonation, modification, side-channel and replay attacks, and so on. In order to resolve the aforementioned problem, we present a conditional privacy-preserving batch authentication (CPPBA) scheme based on elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). The proposed scheme avoids the certificate management problem, conducing to efficiency improvement. When a message is transmitted by a vehicle, its pseudo identity rather than the real identity is also broadcasted along with the shared message, which protects the privacy of the vehicle’s identity. But this privacy is conditional because TA and only the TA can reveal the real identity of the vehicle by tracing. The proposed scheme is batch verifiable, which reduces the computation costs. In addition, our scheme does not involve bilinear pairing operations and does not use the map-to-point hash function, thus making the verification process more effective. An exhaustive efficiency comparison has been carried to show that the proposed CPPBA scheme has lower computation, communication, and storage overheads than the state-of-the-art ones. A relatively comprehensive security analysis has also been carried, which not only shows that the signature design in the CPPBA scheme is unforgeable under the random oracle model but also illustrates that the CPPBA scheme is resistant to various potential attacks. The security is also verified by a popular automated simulation tool, that is, AVISPA.
