Overview of Digital Twin Platforms for EV Applications

Abstract: Digital twin (DT) technology has been used in a wide range of applications, including electric vehicles. The DT platform provides a virtual representation or advanced simulation of a physical object in real-time. The implementation of DT on various aspects of EVs has recently transpired in different research studies. Generally, DT can emulate the actual vehicle on the road to predict/optimize its performance and improve vehicle safety. Additionally, DT can be used for the optimization of manufacturing processe… Show more

“…Then, sophisticated algorithms are employed to calculate the battery's SoC/SoH. The two models for the LIB that are most frequently used are the electrochemical model (EM) and the equivalent circuit model (ECM) (Ibrahim et al, 2023). However, The MB-DT methods are unable to represent the state space of complex systems due to the significant increase in process data.…”

“…Furthermore, DTs enable anomaly detection in fault detection systems [8][9][10], patient care processes, and the efficient management of traffic in smart cities [11,12]. These applications demonstrate the significant value of DTs in optimizing processes [13,14] and enhancing operational efficiency across multiple domains [15]. The DT environment enables a smooth and seamless exchange of information between the physical and virtual realms, empowering organizations to derive valuable insights and make informed, data-driven decisions.…”
