“…They complete our recent investigation of the 1 ϩ 5 3 dyad near 12 700 cm Ϫ1 (10). After submission of this note, the observation of the three components of the 2 1 ϩ 5 3 triad by optoacoustic spectroscopy was reported by Yang and Noda (11). The spectra, recorded at a pressure of 1 atm, does not show regular rotational structure and the band origin derived by rotational simulation is shifted by about 2 cm Ϫ1 from both our values and the calculated band origins obtained by these authors from the work of Courtoy (12).…”

“…Consequently the rms deviation for the vibrational frequencies of the ⌺ states, including those with values above 10 000 cm Ϫ1 , slightly increase up to 0.519 cm Ϫ1 . We should note as well that Yang and Noda have recently observed the CO 2 overtone transitions for the states (4, 0 0 , 3) 2,3,4 and (2, 0 0 , 5) 1,2,3 using optoacoustic spectroscopy (4). The uncertainty of the measured band origins for these transitions is 1-2 cm Ϫ1 .…”

“…Recent experimental studies of the spectra of this molecule include the observation of combination overtone transitions of the 12 C 16 O 2 and 13 C 16 O 2 species in the near-infrared (11 700 -14 200 cm Ϫ1 ) by intracavity laser absorption spectroscopy (ICLAS) (1,2) and by photoacoustic spectroscopy (PS) (3,4), and the measurement of CO 2 emission lines in the 4 -5 and 13-18 m spectral regions by Fourier transform spectroscopy (FTS) from CH 4 ϩ O 2 low-pressure flames (5,6) and from CO 2 ϩ N 2 mixtures excited by dc discharges (7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(12).…”

“…While the relative weak bands 4003i-00001 (i¼1, 2, 3, 4, 5) of the Fermi pentad of 12 C 16 O 2 near 830 nm have never been quantitatively studied. Only the band-heads of the three strongest bands of this Fermi pentad were observed with photo-acoustic spectroscopy [7]. The calculated line parameters of these bands are included in the latest GEISA database [8] and AMES line list [9].…”
