“…Therefore, the detection of TRPC5-positive exosomes can be used to monitor chemotherapy resistance in real time. Another group found that the level of serum exosomal lncRNA HOTAIR from BC patients was significantly higher than that in healthy individuals 114 . Importantly, the level of exosomal lncRNA HOTAIR significantly decreased in all patients 3 months after the operation, suggesting that the source of serum HOTAIR is from the tumor tissue, and its level is related to tumor burden and disease invasiveness.…”

“…Importantly, the level of exosomal lncRNA HOTAIR significantly decreased in all patients 3 months after the operation, suggesting that the source of serum HOTAIR is from the tumor tissue, and its level is related to tumor burden and disease invasiveness. Also, a high expression level of serum exosomal HOTAIR was associated with a poorer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and TAM therapy 114 . Stevic et al 115 showed that some miRNAs were selectively enriched in exosomes of HER2 + BC and TNBC and were also related with the clinicopathological parameters and pathological complete response within the BC subtypes.…”

“…Genetic polymorphisms of HOTAIR are associated with BC risk in different races [119,120,121]. The latest findings suggest that HOTAIR-containing exosomes could be detected in BC patients’ blood [122,123]. Moreover, serum exosomal HOTAIR levels are higher in BC patients than in healthy subjects [122].…”

“…In HR+ breast cancer, elevated circulating exosomal levels of mRNAs encoding cell cycle-regulated thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) and cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) were associated with poor clinical response to the CDK4/CDK6 inhibitor palbociclib [ 115 ]. Recently, it was reported that higher levels of the lncRNA HOTAIR were found in circulating exosomes in breast cancer patients than in healthy individuals [ 116 ]. Exosomal HOTAIR levels were also associated with poor prognosis, and it was suggested as a possible predictor of response to chemotherapy and tamoxifen treatment.…”
