Overexpression of podoplanin in oral cancer and its association with poor clinical outcome

Abstract: BACKGROUND. Podoplanin is a mucin‐like glycoprotein that is important in lymphangiogenesis but not blood vessel formation. Recent studies suggested a potential role of podoplanin in certain tumor cells.
