Abstract: HIV prevention with antiretroviral medication in the form of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) offers a critical tool to halt the HIV pandemic. Barriers to PrEP access across drug types, formulations, and delivery systems share remarkable commonalities and are likely to be generalizable to future novel PrEP strategies.
