Ovarian vein thrombosis (OVT) is a rare entity. It is usually seen in hypercoagulable states such as pregnancy, peripartum period, active malignancy, recent pelvic surgeries, pelvic infections, and inherited or acquired thrombophilias. Idiopathic OVT is exceedingly rare. We report a case of OVT in a healthy 42-yearold post-menopausal female presenting with right lower quadrant abdominal pain for four days. The patient denied any recent pelvic surgery, pelvic infection, or any family history of thrombophilia. Right ovarian vein thrombosis was found on a computed tomography scan of the abdomen and pelvis. Laboratory workup including hypercoagulability studies was normal. The patient was treated with a therapeutic dose of lower molecular weight heparin and later transitioned to rivaroxaban for three to six months. This case emphasizes OVT as a differential diagnosis of lower abdominal pain in healthy females. Currently, there are no standard guidelines for the duration of anticoagulation in OVT, however based on literature review, deep venous thrombosis treatment guidelines can be followed.

In recent decades, extensive growth in the number of overweight or obese individuals is reported thus making this issue important for the medical community. According to some authors, 8% of overweight women and 18% of obese women have troubles with realizing reproductive function. Glucose and lipid metabolism disorders and hypertension that are common in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) allow for referring this condition to metabolic diseases. Metabolic syndrome is an umbrella term for a set of metabolic abnormalities arising from insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. PCOS may also be considered as one of its manifestations being regarded as the most common cause of infertility in overweight and obese women. The treatment should be complex to recover reproductive function and to address metabolic disorders. Adherence to lifestyle changes, diet, and regular physical activity is still poor. Therefore, the use and assessment of the efficacy of pharmaceuticals for pre-pregnancy preparation to lose weight and to improve reproductive outcomes in PCOS. Background: Myoma is one of the most common benign tumor in the women's genital tract and causing some implications such as miscarriages, anemia or even infertility. Since tumorigenesis is associated with a hypercoagulant state, we investigate the role of coagulation related variations in methylene-tetra hydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) and endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR) genes in patients with uterine myoma. Methods: In this case-control study, genotyping was performed for rs867186, rs1801131 and rs1801133 by amplification-refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-PCR) method in 73 patients with myoma and 73 healthy women.
