“…Although these nodules are incidental, small, and benign, they are relevant to the general surgical pathologist by potentially posing a diagnostic challenge if not familiar with this rare finding. Like the current cases, Leydig cell nests or nodules may be found in the mesosalpinx or in the mid portion of the fallopian tube (1,3,4,6,12), or they may be located in the fimbriated end of the fallopian tube (5,(7)(8)(9)(10)12). Reinke crystals are an inconsistent finding in Leydig cell nodules, and several authors specifically reported not being able to find them in their cases (3,4,(8)(9)(10), whereas others were able to document them (1,5-7).…”
