“…Although no statistically significant differences were observed between these 2 groups in terms of pterygium recurrence rate, corneal neovascularization was significantly higher in subjects who had received artificial tear compared with patients who had received topical bevacizumab (P \ 0.03). Sudhalkar et al [27] accomplished 23 primary pterygium excisions with rotational conjunctival autograft and applied a 30 day postoperative regimen included antibiotic eye drops (moxifloxacin), preservative-free artificial tears (carboxymethyl cellulose 1 %, four times a day), and topical bevacizumab (1.25 mg/ml, 4 drops a day) to operated eyes. No recurrence was observed till the end of follow-up period (mean time: 34.25 ± 2.4 months).…”
