“…The paper of de Niet et al 24 reported the largest retrospective experience with 335 cases and one year follow up, including centres with at least 15 cases using the fenestrated AnacondaÔ; the authors reported results comparable to the Italian registry of 88% vs. 87% primary TS, 6.9% vs. 3.9% peri-operative T1aEL, and 93% vs. 97% three year freedom from VVL. A high rate of intra-operative T1aEL has been reported in several cases, including the one reported here, and despite early spontaneous resolution, it is not possible to identify in advance those which are going to regress, leading to the need for strict follow up.…”

“…The current study is a continuation of previous work by our group; the complete study protocol and participant details of the Fenestrated Anaconda™ Study, as well as technical specifications, have been published previously. 12 Briefly, between June 2010 and May 2018, consecutive patients who underwent elective FEVAR for complex abdominal or type IV thoracoabdominal aneurysm (TAAA) using the Fenestrated Anaconda™ in 11 participating centers, were eligible for enrollment in this study. In each participating country, the study was exempted from Institutional Review Board Approval as data was collected anonymously and analysis was performed retrospectively (Institutional Medical Ethical Board reference numbers: the Netherlands M16.203416, Germany 18-268, United Kingdom IRAS 225488 and Canada REB17-0510).…”

“…Target vessel patency was briefly discussed, but was described in more detail by our group, previously. 12 Secondary outcomes were freedomfrom-limb-related-reintervention, secondary patency, and risk factors associated with limb occlusion.…”
