Abstract:Previous investigators had found that self-pacing enhances performance of perceptual-motor tasks. To determine whether self-pacing would increase the observed relationship of information-processing rate with measures of intelligence 31 matched pairs of students, matched for Otis IQ, were randomly assigned to a Work-paced or Self-paced simple arithmetic task. The relationship of the mean response latency to Otis IQ was moderate in each group. However, there was no significant difference between groups in the ma… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
