Osteochondroma of talus

Abstract: Background: Proximal Femoral Nail (PFN) provides tangible evidence for its usage in unstable pertrochanteric fractures. There are a veritable number of references which show that PFN by virtue of its intramedullary fixation reduces the tensile strain thereby mitigating implant failure. Ours is a prospective study done on 50 subjects to assess the outcome of PFN usage in unstable pertrochanteric fractures. Methodology: 50 patients with Jensen Michaelsen type III, IV, V intertrochanteric and reverse oblique frac… Show more

“…However, it was nearly similar to the observations by Motagi et al [8] (Right=2.94 cm and Left=3 cm). The findings about trochlear transverse width (Right=2.55 cm and Left=2.40 cm) in the present study corroborated with the observations of Kumar S et al [5] in which reported values were 2.53 cm on the right side and 2.57 cm on the left side. In our study, the mean value of length of inferior anterior articular surface was 2.8 cm on the right side 1.72 cm on the left side.…”

“…In this study, the mean value of medial articular surface height (MASH) was 1.25 cm on the right side and 1.27 cm on the left side. Greater measurements (1.30 cm on both sides) were documented in the study conducted by Kumar S et al [5] However, LASH values in their study [5] (2.30 cm and 2.33 cm on right and left side respectively) almost matched with the present study findings. The inter-relationship between various parameters of articular surfaces of the talus needs to be evaluated in detail as it might be applicable to design talar and calcaneal screw placement procedures, manufacturing of prosthesis as well as biochemical studies.…”

“…The TGA data of M‐CNCs demonstrates a four‐step decomposition profile, as shown in Figure 4d. The M‐CNCs showed a continuous 10 % weight loss from 33→166.5 °C, 11.2 % weight loss from 166.5→268.7 °C, 18.3 % weight loss from 268.7→331.7 °C, 11.8 % weight loss from 331.7→425.4 °C, and 10.1 % weight loss from 425→700 °C [43] …”

“…As one of the most important microfiller, CaCO3 has been widely used in polyolefins as filler because of its low price, commercial availability and substantial improvement in mechanical properties stemming from its spherical shape morphology. Also, due to its high thermal conductivity, CaCO3 shows high improvements in output and hence faster heating and cooling process cycles [9][10][11][12]. The surface of CaCO3 particles is hydrophilic and polar and to improve their applicability as fillers and their adhesion with a non-polar matrix such as olefins, these particles are usually treated with stearic acid.…”
