Osteo- und Chondrosarkome des Beckens und der unteren Extremitäten

Abstract: A wide tumor resection is essential in the therapy of primary malignant bone tumors to minimize the risk of local recurrence and ensure long-term survival. While chondrosarcoma is mainly treated surgically, osteosarcoma therapy consists of both chemotherapy and surgical resection of the tumor. While endoprosthetic replacement after hemipelvectomy tends to be associated with high infection rates and has been superseded by hip transposition and composite osteosynthetic replacements, the use of megaendoprosthetic… Show more

“…Cuando el tumor se sitúa en la pelvis puede presentarse inflamación o molestias con la micción o defecación debido al desplazamiento de la anatomía normal de la zona. 3 El gran volumen y extensión, la ausencia de barreras anatómicas y la cercanía de vísceras abdominales en la pelvis hacen que las técnicas de resección y reconstrucción Caso clínico…”

“…Chondrosarcoma is difficult to treat because it is resistant to both chemotherapy and radiation, making wide local excision the only effective treatment. 1 , 2 The extent of the resection margins depends on the tumor grade and location. 3 , 4 Local recurrence is frequently seen after intralesional excision, thus wide local excision is sometimes employed despite significant morbidity, even in low-grade lesions.…”

“…Clear cell chondrosarcoma is a rare variant of chondrosarcoma characterized by cells with clear cytoplasm [1], first described in 1976 by Unni et al [2]. Despite being a low-grade sarcoma with slow growth, clear cell chondrosarcoma is resistant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy [3], therefore exhibiting a high local recurrence rate, especially in cases with positive surgical margins [1, 4]. Surgery with curative intent is standard for these patients, but in some rare occasions, metastasis may occur [5-7].…”
