“…Over the next days the fading rate decreases and fading of the signal seems negligible two weeks following the exposure. The above are in agreement with the fading results of four different solid-state drugs reported by Menon et al (2017). In their study, all drugs exhibited strong fading the first 24 hrs after irradiation, during which the ~40-80% of the initial OSL signal faded (Menon et al, 2017; insets of Figure 5).…”

“…The initial quickly decaying part in the first seconds of stimulation is observed in all cases, while the time required to reach the background level varies. Menon et al (2017) also observed that all solid-state drugs of their study were OSL-sensitive with a dominant fast component reaching the background level in short time. In addition, comparison among the various decay curves shows that in the case of Brufen and Procef, the decay curves reach the background level very fast, which would be an indication of the depth of the traps (shallow traps) and the kinetics involved for the above drugs.…”

“…resistors from mobile phones. Previous studies of medicines and vitamins for use in emergency dosimetry concerned: B‐group vitamins, multivitamins, minerals and amino acids as iron, magnesium, l ‐lysine and calcium, [ 23 ] medicines containing paracetamol and calcium with vitamin D3, [ 24 ] Daktarin with miconazole nitrate, zinc oxide and silicon dioxide colloidal [ 25 ] and tablets based on paracetamol, ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or salicylamide. [ 26 ] Among the medicines and supplements, it is worth examining those that contain known phosphors.…”
