Oscillatory channel flow in a rotating system

Abstract: Oscillatory channel flow in a rotating system is considered. The Navier-Stokes equations reduce to the Ekman equations that are solved exactly. The results show the interaction between oscillation frequency and rotation rate. Resonance occurs when the oscillation frequency is twice the rotation rate.
