The commercial used the 555 single timer and the 741 operational amplifiers (op-amp) were investigated under the gamma-ray radiation of the Co-60 source. The maximum total doses were used 2 kGy and 4 kGy to irradiate. The abnormal behavior in the 555 single timer circuit frequency was observed, which decreased from 202 to 195 Hz at 744 Gy gamma-ray radiations. In the 741 op-amp circuit, the output signal dropped from 1.28 to 1.25 under the same radiation dose. The loss of output amplitude was calculated at about 2.3 % when the radiation dose was 4 kGy. At the same time, the gain of the 741 op-amp decreased from 9.88 to 9.84 and its slew rate drops from 4 to 0.65 V/µs. The 555 single timer has two pn junctions and these diodes cause the 555 single timer to be easily affected by gamma radiation. Consequently, the integrated circuits must be tested to determine their resistance limits in the radiation environments.

A need for high gain operational amplifiers (op-amps) exists for certain applications. This requires research in the area of its gain without affecting other parameters drastically. In this paper, high gain single stage Telescopic CMOS operational amplifier has been designed and verified, using PSPICE simulation software. The designed circuit operates at ±5V power supply in the 1µm CMOS technology. The simulation results show that the proposed single stage Telescopic CMOS op-amp has an open loop gain of 77.777dB, unity gain frequency of 7.3054MHz, ICMR of -0.248V to 4.4120V and output voltage swing of 7688.8 times to that of input. A 2pF load capacitor is applied in performing a stable phase margin of 80.669°. As result shows that the designed circuit has high gain, which is used for various applications where very large gain is required to amplify weak signals, such as heart beat in medical instrumentations. The total power consumed by the device is 0.589mW. This shows that the power consumed by the device is too small. Therefore, this device can operate for longer duration of time. The smaller the power dissipation the better the device is. Low power operation is a very important quality factor for batteries that should supply the system for hours or days to power more and more electronic systems.

This article presents measurement circuits and a test board developed for the experimental evaluation of prototype chip samples of the Fully Differential Difference Amplifier (FDDA). The Device Under Test (DUT) is an ultra low-voltage, high performance integrated FDDA designed and fabricated in 130nm CMOS technology. The power supply voltage of the FDDA is 400mV. The measurement circuits were implemented on the test board with the fabricated FDDA chip to evaluate its main parameters and properties. In this work, we focus on evaluation of the following parameters: the input offset voltage, the common-mode rejection ratio, and the power supply rejection ratio. The test board was developed and verified. The test board error was measured to be 38.73mV. The offset voltage of the FDDA was −0.66mV. The measured FDDA gain and gain bandwidth were 48dB and 550kHz, respectively. In addition to the measurement board, a graphical user interface was also developed to simplify the control of the device under test during measurements.
