Os Jogos Olímpicos De Inverno De Vancouver (2010): Uma Pesquisa Etnográfica Sobre Narrativas De Identidade Nacional

Abstract

The interconnection between sport and media is part of this study's aim which is to analyze narratives surrounding Brazilian participation in the context of a sport me ga event: the Olympic Winter Games of Vancouver 2010. The question running th rough this research involves: print media narratives; Brazilian athletes' discourses, and the audience's attitudes and reactions to the athletes' participation at the Ga mes. The main finding is that in the Winter Olympic Games, understood as a stage drama, identity 'interplays" and also structural fluctuations (individual, nation and humanity) are engendered in the discourses surrounding the Brazilian participation at the Games.
