“…The group treated with Er:YAG laser/XT (7.4 MPa) showed the lowest bond strength values, and these findings do not differ from those of studies that observed the bond strength 24 hours after bracket bonding to enamel previously treated with Er:YAG laser 6. However, it is reported in the literature19 that the variation between 5 and 50 MPa indicates the ideal values of bond strength, contributing to the findings of the present study.…”

“…The values obtained are ideal since they indicate a good adhesion of the tested materials to teeth, and at the same time, a facilitated enamel finishing after debonding. Moreover, bonding strength values are included in the interval of 5-50 MPa, which is considered a valid range for materials to support masticatory forces [44]. In sight of these results obtained in vitro, both adhesives appear reliable, although a significantly major shear force is assessed for the conventional resin.…”

“…For the selection, the following inclusion criteria were followed: integrity of the buccal and lingual surfaces, absence of enamel wear, absence of caries, absence of volume, shape and structure anomalies, and absence of traumatic lesions [10]. e teeth were stored in thymol (0.1% weight/volume) [13].…”

“…Each appliance was stressed vertically (with an occluso-gingival direction and a speed of the crosshead set at 1 mm/min) [15]. e load required to detach the brackets was measured in newton and then converted into megapascal (MPa) [13].…”
