“…The xenoliths were selected from among the largest unaltered specimens, and then cut, sliced, and polished into 80-µm-thick sections for defining the modal composition, petrography, and mineral chemistry. A suite of samples from the WG quarry was studied and well-characterized by Matusiak-Małek et al (2017) for major and trace elements, and for Sr and Nd isotopes (see section Petrological Background for details). The present samples are appended with the subscript "II" (e.g., WG1 II ) in order to avoid confusion with the nomenclature adopted by Matusiak-Małek et al (2017).…”

“…Xenoliths from WG basanite have been studied by Smulikowski and Kozłowska-Koch (1984) and Matusiak-Małek et al (2017). They are spinel-bearing peridotites, mostly harzburgites but also some dunites, wehrlites, and clinopyroxenites ( Figure S2); approximately half of the studied xenoliths contained pargasitic amphibole, but their modal composition and dimensions prevented them from being separated for gas analyses.…”

“…The mantle xenolith suite from Pilchowice is, however, similar to other suites from the region, and no significant differences occur in the mantle rocks on the both sides of the Fault (Kukuła et al 2015;Matusiak-Małek et al 2014, 2017a, b, 2010Puziewicz et al 2011;Ackerman et al 2007). Our observations support the findings of Żelaźniewicz et al (1997) that the Intra-Sudetic Fault, albeit a major dislocation in the NE part of the Bohemian massif, is a shallow structure which is not continuing into the middle-and lower crust.…”
