“…In MIS 2, loess samples in southern Japan shows the similar value as in MIS 1. However, the number of oxygen vacancies in northern Japan is systematically larger in those in southern Japan, implying that in the north, the aeolian dust came from sources comprising from older basement rocks, possibly Precambrian rocks in Siberia, having contributed to the loess deposited in northern Japan in MIS 2 (Naruse et al, 1997;Ono et al, 1998;Toyoda and Naruse, 2002).
