Orientation Invariant Sensorimotor Object Recognition Using Cortical Grid Cells

Abstract: Grid cells enable efficient modeling of locations and movement through path integration. Recent work suggests that the brain might use similar mechanisms to learn the structure of objects and environments through sensorimotor processing.
