Organosilane Surfactant-Directed Synthesis of Hierarchical ZSM-5 Zeolites with Improved Catalytic Performance in Methanol-to-Propylene Reaction

Abstract: The hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites with interconnected meso-/microporosity have been successfully synthesized by using the commercial organosilane surfactant TPOAC as the mesopore structure-directing agent, and the influence of the TPOAC/SiO 2 ratio in the initial synthesis gel on the crystallinity, hierarchical structure, and acidity of the obtained hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites were systematically investigated through a combination of XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM, N 2 adsorption, TGA, ICP, and NH 3 -TPD techniques. The ca… Show more

“…The band at 550 cm −1 appeared due to the symmetric stretching vibration of the five-membered rings of T O T in the MFI framework, which is in agreement with the results of XRD. 45 The bands at 1090 and 1230 cm −1 were assigned to the symmetric and asymmetric stretching vibration of the tetrahedral structure in ZSM-5 zeolite, respectively. 45 The peak around 1651 cm −1 was assigned to the surface-absorbed water.…”

“…Mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite with hierarchical pore structure provides a shorter diffusion path, thus enhancing the accessibility to the active sites and improving the resistance to deactivation by coke formation [19][20][21][22]. The mesoporous system can be created in the zeolite either by post-synthetic treatment such as alkali treatment and steaming [23][24][25] or by direct synthesis using hard/soft templates [26][27][28][29][30].…”
