Organophosphine/phosphite‐stabilized silver(I) complexes bearing N‐acetylbenzamide ligand: synthesis, characterization and potential application in metal organic chemical vapor deposition

Abstract: New N‐silver(I) acetylbenzamide complexes of type Ln⋅AgNC9H8O2 (L = PPh3; n = 1, 2a; n = 2, 2b; n = 3, 2c; L = P(OEt)3; n = 1, 2d; n = 2, 2e; n = 3, 2f) were prepared. These complexes were obtained in high yields and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 13C{H} NMR, 31P{H} NMR and IR spectroscopy, respectively. The molecular structure of 2b has been determined by X‐ray single‐crystal analysis in which the silver atom is in a distorted tetrahedral geometry and crystallizes as cis–trans. New N‐silver(I) a… Show more

“…Bond lengths in acetylbenzamide 20 as a ligand compare well with methyl-2-thienylimide, but the only crystal structure of a metal ion complex (CCDC and Scifinder) was that of a tetrahedral metal silver (I) complex containing one acetylbenzamide ligand and two phosphine ligands which is not relevant for a direct structural comparison. 24 A low precision crystal structure of diacetamide is available, but only the crystal structure of its complex with Ba 2+ has been reported. 5d,e The complex involved five bidentate diacetamide molecules and the precision was such that bond distance changes between the ligand and the complex were almost negligible.…”

“…Figure 5.3.2 depicts the reaction scheme. shift was reported for Ag complexes [112] . (2) The structure of 1 was in a P21/n space group, without an inversion centre located in the middle of the molecule (Figure 5 Cu -N3 bond length was reported to be 1.836(4)Å.…”

“…An interesting ligand, N-acetlybenzamide, has recently been reported in phosphite-stabilized Ag(I) complexes. [112] CVD depositions resulted in Ag films with no silver oxide detectable by EDX. The oxygen content of the Nacetylbenzamide ligand did not promote silver oxide formation and perhaps it would be similar in the case of copper.…”
