Organometallic Tetrazole Derivatives: Preparation and Application to Organic Synthesis

Abstract: The data are integrated and systematized on preparation procedures and application to the organic synthesis of organometallic tetrazole derivatives, including 5-metallated tetrazoles and tetrazoles with a metalcarbon bond in a substituent, and also organotin tetrazoles.

“…[180] Still, the μ 2 -κN 1 :κN 2 -bridging mode is a common motif, occurring, e.g., in the 1D coordination polymer Na(N 4 CMe)(H 2 O) 2 as well as within more complex tetrazolato-bridged structures. [108,158,201,203,204] Figure 1 and section 1.6.). [207] In most other cases, (R)CN 4 -is terminally σ-bonded (endon) through any of the nitrogen atoms or through the C 5 carbon, if the tetrazole ligand results from cycloaddition of isocyanide to metal-coordinated azide (chapter 4).…”

“…Their chemistry has also been dealt with in a series of fairly comprehensive reviews. [94,108,157,158] Organometallic complexes of azoles were shortly reviewed by Sadimenko. [159] A perfect update of the paper by Gaponik, Voitekhovich and Ivashkevich as far as methods of synthesis of tetrazole/tetrazolato metal complexes are concerned has now been presented by Popova, Trifonov and Ostrovskii.…”

“…The data on the preparation methods and application of organometallic tetrazole derivatives including 5-metallotetrazoles and tetrazoles containing a metal-carbon bond in the substituent, and also organotintetrazoles are described and generalized in a previous review. 7 In this article we focus our attention on summarizing results of research on the main preparation procedures for tetrazole-containing metal complexes obtained from anionic and neutral tetrazole forms and containing a metal-nitrogen bond.…”
