Orbicularis-Tarsus-Orbital Septum Fixation Technique in Asian Double-Eyelid Blepharoplasty: a Retrospective Study

Abstract: Background: The skin-tarsus-skin and orbicularis-levator fixation approaches are the 2 most applied techniques for doubleeyelid blepharoplasty in China. However, both approaches have their own disadvantages. To achieve stable and dynamic upper eyelid creases, we take the merits of the 2 techniques. In this study, our orbicularis-tarsus-orbital septum fixation technique is introduced and evaluated. Methods: By transversely opening and turning down the anterior orbital septum, we created the septum roll anchored… Show more

“… 6 The intraoperative suture fixation method plays a key role in the postoperative appearance of the double eyelid. 7 The traditional “skin–tarsus–skin” method produces a stable double-eyelid line, but it often leaves an obvious depression and wide feeling at the double-eyelid line after the operation. 8 , 9 The “orbicularis–tarsus–orbicularis” method produces less-discernable scarring, and the surgical effect is naturalistic, but the double-eyelid line is shallow and may become effaced after the operation.…”
