Oral L-arginine improves endothelium-dependent dilation in hypercholesterolemic young adults.

Abstract: In hypercholesterolemic rabbits, oral L -arginine (the substrate for endothelium derived nitric oxide) attenuates endothelial dysfunction and atheroma formation, but the effect in hypercholesterolemic humans is unknown.
