“…Testing of these VHH constructs in a clinical setting and further evaluation of the preparations mentioned before (bovine colostrum and chicken IgY) are necessary to determine their practical utility. Furthermore, testing the value of human Ig in relevant clinical settings is necessary; for example, a recent Cochrane Database systematic review concluded that no randomized controlled trials assessing the effectiveness or safety of oral immunoglobulin preparations for the treatment of RV diarrhea in hospitalized low-birth-weight infants have been published (50).…”

“…5 There are limited reports in the literature describing use of enteral immunoglobulins to treat rotavirus in immunocompetent infants and children as well as small case series in adult HSCT patients. [6][7][8][9] This study represents a singlecenter experience of using multiple daily doses of enteral immunoglobulins in four pediatric HSCT patients with confirmed rotavirus infections in order to decrease the severity and duration of diarrhea.…”

“…Special therapy of rotavirus gastroenteritis is usually not necessary, and symptomatic treatment is adequate. For severe courses, oral Ig preparations are available, but their efficacy is not definitely proven . To enable the best therapy for the patient, in case of graft‐versus‐host disease or infection (which is often difficult to distinguish between), stool specimens should be screened early and regularly.…”
