Abstract:We explore a finite element model of a standard one-dimensional photonic crystal cavity etched on a nanobeam designed to enhance optomechanical coupling. We theoretically demonstrate that polychromatic driving of the mechanical sidebands produces an effective Hamiltonian model showing optical self- and cross-Kerr terms and parametric interaction between the optical and mechanical modes. For the sake of providing an example, we show that bi-chromating driving, near the first and second red-sidebands, produces a… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
