Abstract:Optineurin (OPTN), a cytoplasmic adaptor protein involved in cargo selective autophagy of bacteria, damaged mitochondria and mutant protein aggregates, is frequently seen in pathological structures containing protein aggregates, associated with several neurodegenerative diseases.
