Abstract:Predicting reservoir parameters such as lithology, porosity, permeability, and fluid saturation is essential for estimating reserves, selecting placement of development wells, and forecasting production. To this end, new methods are presented that integrate three-dimensional (3-D) seismic data with well-log, core, and geological information and significantly improve the spatial characterization of reservoirs. Seismic data are used not only to derived detailed 3-D depth images of the reservoir geometry and faul… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
