Optimum downlink antenna weight control method for adaptive array antennas in W-CDMA

Abstract

Tokyo, 104-0032 Japan Abstracf-This paper studies a downlink antenna weight control method of adaptive array antenna at the base station in FDDIW-CDMA systems based on the location information of both the direction of arrival (DOA) and the distance between base station and mobile unit. We introduce a power weight function added to transmitter power according lo the distance from BS in order to improve CIR of users far from BS laking a multi-cell system environment into account. And we clarify that our proposed method is very efleetive to increase the user's capacity in the downlink far a multi-cell system.
