Currently, there are quite a lot of incorrect procedures and mistakes that occur in the forensic area, which lacks analytical approaches toward solving the causes of accidents using s–t diagrams (distance–time diagrams) combined with the software simulation applications. When analyzing accidents, the correct information is of key importance. The aim of this article is to define a new specific technical and analytical approach toward handling expert’s reports on traffic accidents in road transport at intersections, with respect to the traffic lights. A simulation program application is used as a progressive means of accident evaluation. This procedure must become a standard in the methods of modern traffic accident analysis. The application of this methodology with simulation tools for accident reconstruction enables one to perform a very precise analysis of traffic accidents. Mutual space and time relationships of vehicles’ movements have been evaluated here, depending upon the intersection signal plan. To demonstrate the methodology, a real case is used here, reconstructed by means of the complex analytical simulation software PC-Crash. A procedure processed by these means can be beneficial for forensic traffic accident analysis.

This paper presents a multi-agent based distributed traffic control model to optimize the traffic signal for multiple intersections. Previous works in the area of traffic signal control suffer from a number of inadequacies, including the use of fixed cycle length, centralized mode of operations and dependency on historical data. Considering these, the aim of this work is to control the traffic signal timings by adjusting the phase sequence in order to minimize the delay in traffic at the intersections. To model the traffic network, a three-tier multi-agent system has been adopted in distributed mode. In addition, a fully actuated signal control algorithm is designed and it utilizes state-space equations to formulate the queue length at the green light phase and red light phase. The proposed model is simulated with SUMO simulator and a comparative analysis has been made between adaptive control method, multi-agent method based on collective learning and multi-agent based fully actuated control method on a similar platform. The results spectacle the proposed traffic control model outperforms that of other existing control methods in all condition; hence it can be deployed to control the tremendous traffic on the road network and to optimize the traffic signal in more effective manner.

In recent years, multi-agent system (MAS) have attracted extensive attention, but the study for MAS via zonotope theory is very few. This article considers the distributed cooperative fault detection (FD) and fault isolation (FI) problems for a MAS, in which every agent is assumed to be with disturbances in both the sate equation and output equation, by combining Luenberger-like observers and zonotope theory. To begin with, a robust H ∞ observer is constructed for each agent, and zonotope theory is applied on the error dynamic system of the H ∞ observer such that the boundary estimation of the system state can be computed iteratively when the MAS has no fault. After this, for distributed cooperative FD purpose, a residual is also constructed based on the H ∞ observer. Because the constructed residual contains disturbance, it cannot be used for FD directly.To overcome this drawback, the interval estimation of the residual is calculated by using zonotope method, and based on the residual interval estimate, a residual-based distributed cooperative FD strategy is presented. Moreover, the distributed cooperative FI scheme is discussed and an FI strategy is also developed by modifying the distributed cooperative FD scheme. Finally, a simulation example is presented to show the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method.
