Abstract:Enteroviruses are a public health threat due to the high incidence of infections and potential for serious illness or death. Some laboratories in high-income countries detect enteroviruses in water by integrating cell culture and PCR (ICC/PCR). This combined method carries a high financial burden, due in part to specialized cell culture equipment.
