Optimized SIW 5G Array Antennas for Mobile Communication Systems

Abstract:This study proposes Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) antennas for 5G networking. The antennas operate at 59.88 GHz, have a 2.6 GHz bandwidth, and use a cheap substrate. The construction uses a Rogers RT5880 substrate with 2.2 dielectric constant and 0.0013 tangent loss. Standard substrate thickness is 0.312 mm. The substrate (4.142 mm x 4.342 mm) and patch (2.47 mm x 2.27 mm) were used. SIW-line feed is used. Two- and four-element arrays are available.
