“…The selection of a reasonable extraction solvent was of crucial importance for the pretreatment process (Zheng et al, ). According to previous reports (Giroud et al, ; Jiao et al, ; Vichapong et al, ), ethyl acetate, methanol, acetonitrile and acetonitrile containing 0.1% formic acid have been assessed for sample extraction to remove as many potential interfering substances as possible from fresh tobacco leaf, soil and cured tobacco leaf samples. The data, presented in Figure , show that, when acetonitrile containing 0.1% formic acid was used as the extraction solvent, better recoveries of thiamethoxam and clothianidin from fresh tobacco leaf, soil and cured tobacco leaf were obtained (90–98%) compared with the other three solvents.…”
