Optimization of Working Conditions by Response Surface Methodology of Sulfur Dioxide Gas Sensors Based on Au/CoO‐2La2WO6 Nanoparticles

Abstract: In the past, the working conditions of cataluminescence (CTL) method were simply determined by single factor experiment. This paper will illustrate the optimization of working conditions of a novel sulfur dioxide gas sensor based on Au/CoO-2La 2 WO 6 nanoparticles by response surface methodology (RSM). Under optimized working conditions, analytical wavelength 522.77 nm, reaction temperature 111.15°C and carrier gas velocity 144.92 ml/min, the sensitivity of the method can be increased by 6.4 %. The optimizatio… Show more

“…CTL, a kind of chemiluminescence (CL) emitted from heterogeneous catalytic oxidation reactions on the gas–solid interface, has been considered as a promising energy transduction mechanism for fabricating gas sensors . In recent years, a series of CTL sensing applications have been attempted to develop for diethyl ether and many other molecules at different laboratories. However, a higher working temperature above 200 °C is not conducive to the stability of the sensor signal …”

“…Thus, the increased depletion width at the CuO/ZnO interface and the decreased number of CuO holes caused an increase in resistance. Consequently, the sensor‘s response depends on both the net change in hole concentration and the width of the depletion region [44–57] …”
