Optimization of the separation and purification of Al13

Abstract: The optimum process for the separation and purification of Al 13 was investigated in detail in this paper. The various influencing factors were discussed. The experimental results show that the concentration and basicity (B, OH/Al ratio) of polyaluminum chloride (PACl), Al/SO 4 ratio, Ba/SO 4 ratio and ultrasonic reaction have different roles in the separation and purification of Al 13 . Moderate concentration of PACl with the basicity around 2.0 gives some benefits in the separation of Al 13 . An optimization… Show more

“…A large amount of investigation and practical application shows that the AlO 4 Al 12 (OH) 24 7+ (simplified as Al 13 ) is the most efficient species in PACl coagulant [9,10]. The content of Al 13 is therefore the main quality index in PACl products besides the basicity B, i.e.…”

“…Al species of MPACl2.0s and PACl2.0 were characterized by 500 MHz 27 Al NMR, and instrumental settings and experimental conditions were addressed elsewhere (Xu et al, 2003). The internal standard was 0.05 mol/L NaAlO 2 with its chemical shift at 80 ppm downfield.…”
